Deebo Samuel (born January 15, 1996) was born and raised in the small town of Inman, South Carolina. He was a standout athlete at Chapman High School, where he played quarterback and wide receiver.
After high school, Samuel enrolled at the University of South Carolina, where he played football for the Gamecocks from 2015 to 2018. He was named a Freshman All-American and First-team All-SEC as a 19-year-old.
Deebo Samuel began his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers in 2019 after being selected by them in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. After beginning his time with the team as a kick returner and occasional wide receiver, Samuel became one of the most productive wide receivers in the league in 2020 and 2021.
