Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler, known in his day-to-day life as 'Jimbo,' was born September 14, 1989, in Houston, Texas. He grew up with a single mother, who raised Jimmy and his siblings on her own. She instilled a hard work ethic in Jimmy from an early age.
After high school, Jimbo attended Tyler Junior College for one year before transferring to Marquette University. While at Marquette he was named the Big East Player of the Year twice and led the Golden Eagles to the Sweet Sixteen round of March Madness twice.
The Chicago Bulls drafted Jimbo in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft with their 30th overall pick. He became an All-Star for the first time with the Bulls after being voted into the 2015 NBA All-Star Game by fans as a reserve on the Eastern Conference team.
In 2019, Jimbo signed with the Miami Heat, where he continues to play today. He was part of Miami's 2020 Eastern Conference Championship team that went on to win their second championship in franchise history after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 4 games to 2 in the 2020 NBA Finals.
