The NBA Is The Premier Professional Basketball League In The United States And Canada.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the premier professional basketball league in North America. Comprised of 30 teams, it is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. It began playing in 1946 with 11 teams and has grown to become a global brand name with millions of fans around the world.

The Celtics had a great rivalry with the Lakers during the 1960s and 1980s. In 2008, led by Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, they returned to supremacy after defeating the Lakers in six games during the NBA Finals. After losing to Miami Heat in 2011 Eastern Conference semifinals, they returned to the NBA Finals again in 2012 and 2013 to win their 17th championship against Miami Heat.
